FAQ

How do I hire a nanny or housekeeper in Cyprus?

Tell us about your family and the role. We search for candidates, check their right to work, identity and references, interview them, and send you written profiles. You meet the candidates you like, choose, and employ the person directly. We support you until the first working day.

How much does a nanny or housekeeper cost in Cyprus?

It depends on the role, experience, working hours and whether the person lives in or out. We give you a realistic salary range for your role at the first call.

Who pays the agency fee?

Only the employer. Candidates never pay us anything — this is required by Cyprus law.

Is Zephyr Staff a licensed agency?

Yes. Zephyr Staff is the registered business name of AG ZEPHYR CREW LTD, holder of Private Employment Agency Licence No. 593 issued by the Department of Labour, Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance.

Who can work in Cyprus without a work permit?

EU citizens, people under temporary protection in Cyprus, and holders of residence permits that allow work. We check every candidate's actual residence document — never just their nationality.

Can I hire a nanny or housekeeper from abroad?

Yes, through the official domestic worker permit, if your family meets the Migration Department's criteria. We check your eligibility, find candidates, and prepare and submit the application. The process usually takes several months.

What do I need to do as an employer?

Register with Social Insurance, pay monthly contributions on the actual salary, hold employer's liability insurance, and give your employee written terms of employment. We guide you through each step.

How do you check candidates?

We confirm identity and right to work from the original documents, interview every candidate, and contact previous employers before you interview them.

What if the placement does not work out?

If the employment ends within three months, we find you one replacement candidate free of charge, under the conditions of our terms.

Which areas do you cover?

All of Cyprus, including Limassol, Paphos, Larnaca and Nicosia.
