Who can employ a domestic worker from abroad
The Migration Department sets eligibility criteria for families, mainly based on household income and family situation. At our first meeting we check whether you qualify, before any work or cost.
How it works
- Consultation — we discuss the role and check your eligibility.
- Candidate selection — we find candidates, check their experience and documents, and arrange video interviews with you.
- Documents and application — we prepare and check the application, the standard employment contract and all supporting documents, and submit them as your authorised representative.
- Entry permit — the Migration Department examines the application. By law, a decision is due within four months.
- Arrival — within seven days of arrival, the worker registers and gives biometric data, completes medical tests in Cyprus, and the required insurances are put in place.
- Residence and work permit — once issued, your employee can work for you legally.

Good to know
- The worker is employed on the government's standard domestic worker contract.
- The employer provides suitable accommodation and pays the medical tests, permit fees and the worker's travel to Cyprus. These may not be deducted from the salary.
- The employer registers with Social Insurance, holds employer's liability insurance, and pays the salary into a bank account in the worker's name.
- The permit is tied to one employer.
- The whole process usually takes several months, so plan ahead.
Fees
Our fee is paid by the employer only. Candidates never pay us anything.
